President’s Message

Rae’s Reflections  rae-tennis-crop.jpg

March brings to mind shamrocks and St. Patrick’s Day, March Madness, and the beginning of Spring. March is also Women’s History Month. The women of New Neighbors may not qualify as women in history but there are many worth honoring. We have authors, professors, teachers, lawyers, artists, seamstresses, cancer survivors, photographers, gardeners, church leaders, CPA’s, administrative assistants, realtors, nurses and many, many more very gifted and talented women. Each of you is worth honoring during this month. Take a moment to honor your friends in New Neighbors.

We have a wonderful club social coming up on March 12, 2010. We will be visiting the historic Hunt Phelan Home from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Come and enjoy a glass of wine, hors d’oeuvres and a personal tour of the home. We will discover its unique history and renovations. Please mail your reservations and check to the post office box; the deadline is Friday March 5, 2010. Please feel free to invite a guest to join you. If you wish to stay for dinner, please contact Hunt Phelan directly for your dinner reservation.

I challenge each of you at your next NN luncheon to discover one interesting fact about another person sitting at your table. It would even be better if that person was someone you have not previously met. Remember we are over 400 members and each one of us has something unique and interesting to offer; let’s see what we can discover about each other.

The nominating committee is putting together a slate of officers for the 2010-2011 New Neighbor Board. If you or someone you know is interested in being considered for a board position, please provide me with that recommendation.

In Friendship,

Rae
